Although this was a massive effort in pattern-reading-comprehension and colorwork (I think I had 13 bobbins going at one point) I am really happy with the results. It's warm and I'm going somewhere cold this weekend, so I'm glad I finished it and can model it at Thanksgiving dinner. I'm in the middle of a scarf-a-thon right now and am travelling with the yarn I chose for making the Baby Bobbie Bear.

Gratitude
If you hadn't
heard, last
Tuesday was my
birthday. All the birthday wishes and cards and gifts mean so much to me, that saying "Thank You" hardly seems to express my gratitude.
I have gotten to know so many special people this year that if I think about it too hard, my heart might explode, or I'll start to weep tears of joy. Yep -- I'm feelin' pretty lucky. You guys have made this, quite possibly, the best birthday I've ever had. I don't know if I've ever felt more rich with love and friendship. And I don't even know if I'm capable of giving that much back to all of you. I hope you all know that I'm feeling it deep down in my soul and do not take for granted how great I've got it. I know that it's sappy, but I hear it's ok to be a little mushy every once in a while...
So thanks for reading my blog. Thanks for being my friends. And I wish you all the best of everything.
And I wish for me to finish Cyd. Soon. I'm almost there... Pictures forthcoming.

They Almost Fit
I guess the buddy booties almost fit already, at one month old. Please note that this baby is already communicating with everyone. See his 'Peace Out' hand signal? We're thinking he's probably a genius.
I made some booties for myself. And I followed someone else's pattern and I felted them, and they came out to be exactly the right size for my feet. You're not going to believe me when I say this, but I even checked my gauge before I started. So it looks like maybe the whole checking gauge can work to one's advantage. My legs are not ready for the internet, so I got Murphy to model them.
OK, here's a better view of the final product. Made with Harrisville Designs Orchid Line yarn (mohair, wool, silk blend) from a pattern in the
Knit One, Felt Too book.
They're really comfy...
